Speak Blessing To People Who Hurt Me? You MUST Be Joking!

I suspect most have heard the 'golden rule' ("Do unto others as you would have them do unto you").   Here's how to apply it practically to your everyday life and, in addition to giving your enemy an opportunity to make a 180 from being a hurtful person to a happy and helpful one, bringing a powerful, ready & waiting blessing from God down upon you!!

Read Luke 6:27-31:
27 "But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. 29 If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. 30 Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. 31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.

But don't stop there.  Read on through verse 36:
32 "If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. 34 And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. 35 But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be (known as) children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. 36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

When others hurt you or abuse you in any way, stop your hating.  Turn your heart to be like God, our Heavenly Father, who knows how to give good gifts better than anyone, and who WANTS to give good gifts!  Give the gift of instant forgiveness -- even if there's no way to verbally give the forgiveness and just in your heart!  Then ask your Heavenly Father to bless that person!  God will hear from Heaven and is faithful to answer,  He will answer with blessings for the one who has hurt you, allowing that person an opportunity to have a change of heart, and He will answer you with blessings in abundance because you are His child and you have asked for it!!  Isn't that a wonderful thing to learn!?

God loves His children beyond measure, and has proven it by allowing His one and only Son, Jesus The Christ, to hang on a cruel cross of death in order to bear all the sins of the world, all the sins of time, causing God to have to turn His face from Jesus, who became our required payment for redemption forever, so that we could be reconciled to God - so that we could cry out to the Creator of All Things That Ever Were, Ever Are and Ever Shall Be, "My Father, My Father, WHY have YOU so blessed ME!?"

Consider your own life -- Consider Christ's love -- Come to God and be reconciled --- forever!
