The National Day of Prayer (NDP) is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. The NDP Task Force is a privately funded organization whose purpose is to encourage participation on the National Day of Prayer. The organization exists to communicate the need for personal repentance and prayer, to create appropriate materials, and to mobilize the Christian community to intercede for America’s leaders and its families. The Task Force represents a Judeo Christian expression of the national observance, based upon its’ understanding that America was birthed in prayer and in reverence for the God of the Bible.

Location: California State Capitol, at the South Steps (11th & N Street)
This year, the National Day of Prayer and Cinco de Mayo are on the same day, so we are bringing both events together in a unique worship celebration that honors our Spanish-speaking brothers and sisters at the California State Capitol on Thursday, May 5th, at 5:30pm-7pm, at the South Steps (11th & N Street). Come from all over California and participate in the National Day of Prayer with a Cinco de Mayo flavor for “United We Stand in Prayer – A Mighty Fortress is our God!” Featured guests: Mario Murillo, Bishop Jaimie Soto, Lou Engle, and musical guests L-Rey!!!
