Local Library on Saturday
A whispering hush swirls 'round the room
Papers, pages, humming Internet
Sounds of heartbeats & calm breathing
The carpet a calming, absorbing blanket
The air is sweet and soft
Filled with children's breath
They are everywhere and nowhere,
Not seen and very visible
Children's Hour is only on SWednesdays
My heart is depressed to know it
But Saturdays are full of young parents
With children
Outside, through the window glass, they run and jump
While inside their tiny hands work with books, blocks
And their sharp minds point out
The funny tail of the 'cat on that book'!
